I’m Serena Haywood - though most people know me as Sweena - and I’ve spent over two decades creating thousands of stories.

I write a combination of fiction, literary fiction, non-fiction and graphic novels because each one lets me explore something different - pressure, choice, and what people do when it actually matters.

I don’t sit in one lane, and I don’t plan to.

My fiction leans into character first. Whether it’s The First Acolyte or future fantasy worlds, I’m interested in what happens when someone is pushed far enough that they’re unable to stay the same.

My graphic novels bring that into a more visual space. Alongside that, I write non-fiction that’s grounded in real life. Practical and direct, helping people move forward with intention.

I’ve worked across film, podcasting, content creation and storytelling for large brands.

I care about pacing. I care about clarity. And I care about making sure something actually lands - whether that’s a scene, a concept, or a shift in perspective.

I’m not interested in overcomplicating things or dressing them up to sound clever.

I write stories that pull you in and hold your attention.
