I’m Serena Haywood - though most people know me as Sweena - and I’ve spent almost two and a half decades creating thousands of stories across a variety of mediums.

My professional career has taken me on a journey through social media & communications, digital marketing, publishing, UX, website building, theatre and film.

As an author, I write a combination of fiction, literary fiction, non-fiction and graphic novels because each one lets me explore something different:

Pressure, choice and what people do when it actually matters.

My fiction leans towards thrillers. In The First Acolyte, I was captured by what happens when someone is pushed so far enough that they’re unable to stay the same.

My graphic novels bring that into a more visual, fantasy space. Alongside that, I write non-fiction that’s grounded in real life; practical and direct, helping people move forward with intention.

I’ve worked across film, podcasting, content creation and storytelling for large brands and organisations.

I care about pacing. I care about clarity. And I care about making sure something actually lands - whether that’s a scene, a concept, or a shift in perspective.
